Sunday Music - Dear Mr. Gable (You Made Me Love You)

One of the sweetest pieces in the music world, and one of the sweetest of girls. When she actually sang to Clark Gable, she was so overwhelmed that she burst into tears upon finishing... at which point she got a big hug and a kiss from him. Her little recitative mid-song is enough to make you melt.

Sunday Music - Old Friends

I still think of my home when I was a baby and all the people we knew when we were there. There's nothing that can compare with friendship. Even those I constantly get into tiffs with... personality clashes can be pretty exciting, huh? It's not always pitching popcorn to the doves... some of us are more 'pitching the nearest weapon at each other' sort of people. ;) But, really, that's part of why I love them... they make life more interesting.

And more beautiful. I wish I had them all with me right now. It's not the same without them. :(

Sunday Music - Like A Hurricane

This is a song with atmosphere. Neil Young is just so good at what he does.

Sunday Music - Get Rhythm

This brings back a fun memory... walking through the old mill town... I started snapping my fingers in time to our footsteps, and it wasn't long before we had a complicated finger-snapping rhythm going... and then we launched into this song. Incidentally, ever notice how spontaneity in song is a rare thing these days? When you step out on a stage people will listen; but out here in CA at any rate people will look at you funny if you start singing in public for no reason. Far cry from hotel lobbies in Ireland where one or two musicians would start an impromptu session... and soon everyone with an instrument in the hotel would be gathered 'round to join in. What a night that was.

Sunday Music - For What It's Worth

Too bad it cuts off in the middle... but we did get a little glimpse of Neil there.

I Miss You, Paddy!!

Me and Paddy at the football game

Tell Mamma to pack you in a box and send you to me... you'll make it in time for the Halloween Dance! Take care of my praying mantis until I come home. I'll write you a letter very soon, and tell you all about the doings at college. You're my favourite of all Paddy-boys. I can't wait to see you again!

Lots of love,
Your sister Clare
